Tea Breads

Tea bread is like a fruit cake but without the fat so you can slice it thinly and butter it. It's very tasty but not sweet. There are all sorts of regional recipes for this. Many years ago in England, before food was cheap and before pre-packed convenience food was available, nothing was thrown away and even the left-over tea in the tea-pot was used - and so you have tea bread

St Patricks Day

17 March is one of traditional celebration in Ireland, people wear green cloths, caps, ,,, Irish flags, eating Irish food, especially Guinness. St.Patrick's Day is bursting with folklore from the shamrock to the leprechaun and to pinching those that are not wearing green.

Kabuki/

You will see a lady in the middle, she is Shimada San, where you can see her 'REAL' face from my previous blog that she was holding Mentaiko. But its pity that most young generation in Japan do not like Kabuki. Like Beijing opera,,,,,

Kabuki/

It is a traditional Kabuki in Japan. One of my japanese friends acted the leading role. Though it may too far to see.

Kinkakuji/金閣寺 Temple in Kyoto

List on a world heritage in 1994, it's a built by gold. Wanna get more details? Here it is......

Mentaiko/明太子

Someone like Mentaiko, someone don't like it. You can find Mentaiko in most Sushi place in Japan. It is a little bit spicy and salty. Its good to eat them with rice and Miso Soup. But its worth to try one bite...

Sakura/桜

We also called Hanami/花見. Every March and April is Sakura season in Japan. Sometimes the blossoms come out earlier, sometimes later. It depends on the weather at that year. People like having food, talking each other under the Sakura trees. It's called O Hanami/お花見.

Kobe Tower

How wonderful Kobe Tower is! You can go up to the viewing platform to see the whole Kobe city. Remember, go in the evening, the view is much nicer. Well, compare to Hong Kong's view at night... ummmm...different feel! But i strongly recommend you to see it once if you go to Japan. Also, there is a mini museum at the first floor before you go up. Don't miss it.................

Taiko/

This is a Taiko, a traditional japanese percussion instrument, where we saw in a Jinjya/神社 in Kyoto. Its used in a ceremony(but i forgot which one). Nowadays, it is known that Taiko has spread all over the world.

The Taj Mahal

Stunning white marble, delicately inlaid with onyx verses from the Holy Qu’ran. Breathtaking architecture. But more (oh, so much more) lasting an impression is caused by the nauseating stench of thousands of unwashed feet. That, and the joy of walking through pigeon faeces.

Delhi Airport

Quite possibly the worst airport in the world: ridiculous delays and check-in times, policies that force you to pay when you want to use the airport’s ATM, and a general lack of organisation that sadly characterises so many of Delhi’s institutions, all contributed to an experience so unpleasant that we will never fly to or from that airport again. The terminal manager also failed to identify himself satisfactorily when asked, made vaguely rude comments, and was utterly unprofessional. With mangy animals running up and down the roads and around the drop-off points, locals sleeping outside the terminal, dogs (one of which was bleeding from its anus) bothering waiting passengers and the pathetically-inadequate waiting facilities (which also charge a fee every three hours), Delhi International Airport is a disgrace to the city and the country of India.
